Terms of Service
Last updated October 23, 2026
The short version.
- Almari is a marketplace. Sellers list their own pieces; buyers buy from them.
- Listing is free. When a piece sells, the seller pays a Buyer Protection fee of $0.99 plus 9% of its price, out of what they're paid. Buyers pay the price and shipping.
- We hold the buyer's payment until the piece arrives and Buyer Protection ends, then pay the seller.
- Pay and talk only inside the app. Anything paid outside Almari isn't protected.
1. These terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Almari Technologies Inc. ("Almari", "we", "us") for using the Almari app and almari.store. By creating an account or using Almari, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Almari.
You must be 18 or older to use Almari, and you must live in the United States.
2. Your account
- Give us true information and keep it up to date. One person, one account.
- Keep your sign-in safe. You're responsible for what happens on your account.
- Your @handle must not pretend to be someone else, including Almari or its team.
- We may limit, suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts others at risk.
3. How Almari works
Almari is a marketplace for South Asian occasion and everyday wear. Sellers list pieces they own and set their own prices. When you buy, the sale is between you and the seller; Almari isn't the seller. We review every listing before it goes live, and we may decline, edit for safety, or remove any listing.
4. Buying
- Price. You pay the piece's price and shipping. Buyer Protection comes with every purchase at no cost to you: the seller pays for it. Where we offer shipping insurance, it's an optional add-on you choose and pay for. The total is shown before you pay.
- Payment. Payments are processed by Stripe. We hold your payment until the order completes, then pay the seller.
- When an order completes. Once your piece is delivered, you have 3 days to tell us about a problem. For parcels on an Almari label, delivery is USPS's delivered scan. For parcels the seller sends another way, it's the later of 3 days after you confirm delivery and 10 days after it was shipped out. If you don't report a problem in time, the order completes and the seller is paid.
- Pay only in the app. If you pay a seller any other way, Buyer Protection doesn't cover it and we can't help get your money back.
5. Selling
- Fees. Listing is free. When a piece sells, Almari's fee is $0.99 plus 9% of the sale price, taken from your payout. It pays for Buyer Protection. You see what you'll be paid before you list.
- Payouts. To be paid, set up payouts with Stripe, which verifies your identity and bank account. Stripe's Connected Account Agreement applies to your payouts. Your listings go live once payouts are set up.
- Describe it honestly. Photos, size, measurements, condition and flaws must be accurate. You must own what you list, and it must be what you say it is.
- Ship on time. Ship within 7 days of the sale. If you don't, we may cancel the order and refund the buyer.
- Shipping labels. Where we offer it, we give you a USPS label for each sale at no cost to you (the buyer's shipping pays for it), made through our shipping partner Shippo. Use it only for that order. Otherwise, or if you prefer, ship your own way, with tracking.
- Taxes. You're responsible for any taxes on your sales. Stripe may send you a tax form, such as a 1099-K, when the law requires it.
6. Buyer Protection and problems with an order
Buyer Protection covers a piece that:
- never arrives (you can report this from 5 days after it was shipped out);
- arrives damaged;
- is significantly different from its listing; or
- is counterfeit.
It doesn't cover a piece that doesn't fit, or a change of mind, when the piece is as described.
A piece counts as arrived once the carrier scans it as delivered to the address on your order. If the scan or the carrier shows it went to the wrong address, you're still covered. If it goes missing after it was delivered to your address, for example taken from your doorstep, Buyer Protection doesn't cover it. Report it to the carrier and your local police.
To report a problem, open the order and tap Something Wrong? before Buyer Protection ends. For a damaged or different piece, we'll ask for photos. The seller can refund you, or offer a partial refund. If you can't agree, our team reviews the case, including both sides' photos and messages, and decides. We may ask you to send the piece back. Our decision on a case is final within Almari, and doesn't limit any rights you have by law.
7. What isn't allowed
Almari has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. You may not post, sell or send:
- Counterfeit, stolen, unsafe or illegal items, replicas or "inspired" copies of a brand's designs, and anything that isn't clothing, shoes or accessories.
- Sexual or nude content, anything that sexualises or endangers a minor, and violent or graphic content.
- Products made from protected wildlife, such as shahtoosh, ivory or tortoiseshell.
- Sharing phone numbers, emails, addresses or payment links to take a sale outside Almari.
- Harassment, hate, threats, bullying, scams, fake reviews, or misleading listings.
- Using another person's photos without permission.
- Interfering with the app, or collecting other people's information from it.
You can report any listing, comment, review, chat or person, and block anyone, from inside the app. Our team reviews reports within 24 hours, removes content that breaks these rules, and suspends or permanently removes the accounts that post it.
Written messages and comments are checked automatically for contact details and scams, to keep everyone safe. Photos and voice notes aren't checked this way, so please report anything that worries you.
8. Your photos and words
You own the photos and words you post. You give Almari a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, show, adapt (for example, crop or resize) and share them, inside and outside the app, to run and promote Almari, for as long as they're on Almari and a reasonable time after. Only post what you have the right to post.
9. Leaving or closing an account
You can stop using Almari at any time and ask us to delete your account. Orders already paid for are completed or refunded first. We may close an account that breaks these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive, such as payments owed, disputes, and limits on liability, survive.
10. Disclaimers and limits
Almari is provided "as is". We work hard to keep it running and safe, but we don't promise it will always be available or error-free, and we don't guarantee any item, seller or buyer beyond what Buyer Protection covers.
To the extent the law allows, Almari isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the greater of $100 or the fees you paid Almari in the 12 months before the claim.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. If you have a concern, please contact us first; most problems can be solved quickly.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change is important, we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect. Using Almari after that means you accept the new terms.
